Employee matching gifts are grants an employer makes to match its employees’ charitable contributions. Employee matching gifts often are dollar-for-dollar; however, some companies will give double or even triple the original donation. Some companies may also give matching gifts for employees’ volunteer efforts.
Although alumni, parents, friends, and institutional partners of Newman University all have their own compelling answer to this question, there are some overriding motivations that many of our donors share.
Our donors want to give back to the University that—in fundamental ways—helped make them who they are today.
They also want to give forward by helping the next generation of deserving students from around the world gain access to a Newman University education and helping our outstanding faculty and researchers add to the world’s store of knowledge. They also want to support Newman University’s interdisciplinary atmosphere and mission-driven studies, which are making lives better on both individual and societal levels.
You will find a list of companies with matching programs below. However, it is always best to check with your Human Resources department for specific information on whether they have a matching program and how to request a matching donation. If your company matches gifts and they are not listed, please let us know.
Thank you for considering Newman for your gift.
Employee matching gift programs are corporate giving programs in which the company matches donations made by employees to eligible nonprofit organizations. It's an easy way to double your contribution to us!
Requesting a matching gift is normally a five-minute process that must be initiated by the donor. You can do this through an electronic submission process or by filling out and submitting a paper match form provided by your employer. Please search our database above for company-specific information.
Many companies offer Volunteer Grants (often called "Dollars for Doers"). If you volunteer a certain number of hours with us, your employer may provide us with a financial grant in recognition of your time. Some companies also offer Volunteer Time Off (VTO), allowing you to volunteer during work hours without using your personal PTO. Search for your employer above to see if these programs are available to you.
We partner with a company called Double the Donation. If you see anything that should be changed, please email Double the Donation's team at data@doublethedonation.com.
